Adjusting. In my life I have spent a lot of time adjusting to heavy changes. One of the most difficult was when I was a child and my mother and I moved from one city to another. It was devastating to me. Everything I knew was left behind. It took a very long time for me to adjust and move forward with life. What I realized and gained out of that was a ability to manipulate my surroundings and adjust to my location. I have never been the type of person who thinks one city or state is the best over others. I do believe that you can make something wonderful out of any place. The reason, no matter where you wind up your life is always with you. I have yet to find any one particular great thing about my new place of residence. Little by little I run across moments or days or places or events that make me feel like this could be a good home. This video has some aspect of that. It is also missing a lot of POC presence but I that may be one thing to look forward to. I have a lil dream of owning a business that my son or future children can grow up being around. Like one of my tio’s shoe repair business back home. The smells and sounds of all those machines turning and plunking and grinding someones footwear back into shape are as real today as they were then. I want that for my son. Maybe a DJ shop or a small cafe with DJ’s spinning or a music shop of some sort. Who knows? Maybe it won’t even come to fruition but I can dream!
